Week 12, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist, digging into two articles this week, walnuts and finishing the kiwis.  I hear kiwis are making a comeback after their heyday in the 1980s.  Will be interesting to find out if that's true.  Also, made big progress yesterday on Falling edits.  Here are a few pictures of kiwis.

Week 11, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist is on the move today doing the tourist stuff with Christmas company and doing leather boots today.

Week 11, day 2, Rubber Boot Journalist is cooking a ham for New Year's Eve dinner with guests. Anyone else have plans?

Week 11, day 3, Rubber Boot Journalist's last day out of rubber boots.  I'm taking down Christmas decorations and getting the house back in order to hit the ground running to start 5 new articles tomorrow.

Week 10

Week 10, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist is still in slippers and still wrapping presents but seeing the light at the end of the tunnel just in time.


Week 10, day 2, Rubber Boot Journalist finished her wrapping at 10pm last night! Now off to the grocery store this morning to pick up some last minute items for the turkey tomorrow. I have three someone's anxious for Santa to arrive.

Week 8, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist. Still working on adaptive grazing and rice this week. I'm also working on some waterfall photos for a stock photo agency I work for. Got the new cover for the children's book back from Fantasia Frog Designs and it's fabulous.

Week 6, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist, working on Mt. Shasta west side this week. The west side has more limited agriculture, cattle and timber due to weather and water is a concern, too. Also wrapping up the back cover blurb of Falling to send off to the cover designer.

Week 5



Week 5, day 1, Rubber Boot Journalist. Starting the south side of Mt. Shasta today. They do some different crops from the east side--wild rice, some blueberries, mini watermelons, cattle, forages. Also made it a third of the way through Falling!

Week 3


Week 3, day 1, the Rubber Boot Journalist is working on a series of articles on the different types of agriculture on the four sides of Mt. Shasta.  This week is the north side which has everything from cattle, vegetables, tree fruit and lavender.
